 Digital Scenario: Exploring My Community with Microsoft Teams


Objective: The main objective of this scenario is to develop primary school students' digital competencies using Microsoft Teams to create a collaborative digital project showcasing their understanding of the local community.

Target Audience: Primary education students (ages 8-10).

Digital Scenario:

1. Introduction:

Introduce the concept of community and its importance.

Explain the use of Microsoft Teams for collaboration and communication.

2. Research and Planning:

Assign each student a task to explore and research a specific aspect of their community.

Use Teams channels for each research group, allowing students to share resources, discuss findings, and plan their projects.

3. Digital Content Creation using Microsoft Teams:

Students use Microsoft Teams to create a collaborative presentation or a digital story.

Encourage the use of features like chat, file sharing, and video meetings for effective communication and collaboration.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

Teams meetings can be used for virtual presentations where each group shares their project with the class.

Foster a discussion within Teams, enabling students to comment on and ask questions about their peers' projects.

Rubrics and Feedback:

1. Content (50 points):

Accuracy of information shared in Teams channels.

Depth of exploration in the collaborative presentation.

2. Creativity (30 points):

Innovative use of Microsoft Teams features for collaboration.

Originality in presentation design.

3. Communication (20 points):

Clarity and coherence during virtual presentations.

Active participation in Teams discussions.

Evaluation Process:

Peer evaluation: Students provide feedback in Teams channels during the planning phase.

Teacher assessment: Use the rubrics to evaluate each group's collaborative project and participation.

Self-assessment: Students reflect on their contribution to the project and their experience using Microsoft Teams.

Teacher e-portfolio:

Describe how Microsoft Teams was integrated into the scenario.

Attach the adapted rubrics used for evaluation.

Showcase snippets or screenshots from Teams channels and meetings to demonstrate collaboration.

This scenario leverages Microsoft Teams to not only enhance digital competencies but also to foster effective collaboration and communication skills among primary school students.
